A lot has gone on in the past few months and I believe it is time for an editorial. The big news at this time is the Masaryktown Bingo. I have been volunteering since July and I must say I have learned a great deal about bingo. I've met some very sweet and interesting ladies, and let me tell you, this is a ladies game. We have some gentlemen that play but the ladies are the boss at these games. We have new volunteers and our new food vendors Kathy and Steve Hruska are doing a fantastic job. So far it has been quite a refreshing experience. Masaryktown Bingo has been around for quite a while. We are in a beautiful area with easy access to our center. Well over 200 seating, a large non smoking room and plenty of area on the tables and between the tables. I didn't realize it, but this is very important..... "BECAUSE"..... these ladies are serious players. Some of them play so many cards I get dizzy when I look at them! They bring big bags with multi-colored Dabbers, Elephants, Buddas, Trolls, figurines of all kinds, and family pictures.All the things that bring them good luck. Several players come early to sit and have a cup of our free coffee and chew the fat with their friends, play cards and get ready to "BINGO"! When that first number hits the screen, the dabbers go into high gear and everyone gets down to business. Winners get to wave their money around and even wack one of their neighbors with it if they get close enough! All in good fun though, and that is the goal, To have a good time and win some money. As a board member I want to thank all our loyal players for being patient with us as we trained new volunteers and hope to see you and more new people in the future. If you have any Ideas that you feel would make Masaryktown Bingo better, please let me or one of the other board members know. We are always looking to improve our center. Today I received a call from our community center President Mr. Gene Richards. He has received a call from his son Jim Richards concerning the pictures I have of the bingo games on this web site. According to Gene, Jim has received complaints from players in the pictures I took Wednesday night during the bingo games. These pictures are NOT from our security system. The centers security system is not operating during the bingo games. The pictures were taken by myself with the same camera I use at all the events. I took them openly and did not conceal the camera in anyway. I have not received any complaints from anyone about my editorial or pictures. As for security systems, this is part of our daily life now a days. Go to the bank, Wal Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, all gas stations, fast food places, fairgrounds, drug stores, even some of the stop lights have cameras attached. This is just to name a few. As I stated earlier, the pictures I posted are from my personal camera and if you do not want your picture on my site, let me know and I will remove it. If you would like your picture on my site please let me know and I will post you during one of our events.
